Today was about flesh. In all its beauty and all its forms, from pasty-white to rich coffee-brown, pink and plump and exposed, out all over the city. The rare 90-degree heat encourages San Franciscans to wear as little as possible, then go find a park, a beach, or an outdoor cafe to sit and pass the day. This is my interpretation of what a satellite image would look on a day like today.

My hot day geography is Dolores Park. Living in the Mission District allows me to be lounging with my pals within a few block walk, scooching along the hillside, chasing the shade. Looking out across the park from our perch high on skin hill, the thick sea of shades and varieties of folks and flesh is rare and fascinating.
